When to Apply
Dual MAGNUM may be applied either as a preplant incorporated broadcast treatment or as a pre-emerge broadcast treatment. Apply 1-2 pts/A to soil and incorporate in top 3" using finishing disk, harrow, rolling cultivator, etc., within 14 days before planting. Do not bring untreated soil to surface with cultivation.

Premergence applications should be made at or shortly after planting but before weeds emerge. Dual MAGNUM will not control emerged weeds.

Remarks:
To avoid possible illegal residues: (1) Do not allow livestock to graze or feed in treated area. (2) Do not exceed the maximum label rates given above for sunflowers for the soil type.

The new supplemental label directs post-emergent use after the V2 stage and prior to R1 reproductive stage and not after the sunflower plant has reached 8 inches in height.

Remarks:

When to Apply
Apply Express herbicide using a minimum spray volume of 5 GPA using flat-fan nozzles or 2 GPA by air to provide good weed control. See label for GPA instructions for other nozzles and for specific state instructions. When tank mixing with a grass herbicide, use the higher spray volume recommended for those products, usually 10 GPA by ground.

• Apply Express herbicide from the two-leaf stage up to but not including bud formation.

• Depending on environmental conditions, a second application may be needed 14 or more days after the
first application.

•Do not apply within 70 days of sunflower harvest.

Express herbicide 0.25-0.5 oz./A. Zero-day interval before planting.

Postemergence

Apply 0.5 oz./A rate when weed infestation is heavy or when weeds predominantly consist of weeds partially controlled or when application timing and environmental conditions are marginal.

Temporary crop yellowing may be observed shortly after application of Express. For use on sunflower hybrids with the FMC ExpressSun Trait for tolerance to DuPont Express herbicide with Totalsol Soluable Granules. See label for more details.

Remarks:
Valor can be used at 3 - 4 oz/Acre with labeled burndown herbicides to enhance the speed of burndown, increase weed spectrum and provide residual weed control until the following spring. Valor should be mixed with 2, 4-D and/or glyphosate formulations labeled for burndown programs (pre-emergence to crop). Do not perform any tillage operation after application or residual weed control will be reduced. Additional preemergence herbicides should be applied at planting and postemergence herbicides in-crop should be planned to achieve optimum weed control.

Do not apply preplant incorporated prior to sunflower planting and do not apply to sunflower at soil cracking or to cotyledon sunflower. Apply Zidua at 1 to 4 fl oz/A depending on soil texture. Zidua may be applied early postemergence from V1 to V8 at 1 to 2 fl oz/A to provide residual weed control. The maximum cumulative amount of Zidua herbicide for sunflowers per crop season by soil type is 1.5 (coarse), and 5.0 (medium and fine) oz/A.

Remarks:
Zidua and Beyond tank mix cannot be applied on Clearfield sunflower but can be applied on Clearfield Plus sunflower varieties. Allow a 60 day PHI. For registered tank mixes, follow the adjuvant recommendations for the tank mix partner of Zidua.
